laptop lust

as much of a geek as i am, i never caught the gadget bug. i have a really hard time getting excited over new gizmos that hit the market. i appreciate beauty in design when i see it, but can (and generally do) live just fine without the latest and greatest hotness of the day.

however, when i saw this i just about wet myself.

assuming that they actually make this thing, that the performance is decent and that it arrives with a comprehensive set of open source drivers i would love to get one as my next laptop.

*joyful shudder*

I've always lusted after mac powerbooks. Until now. Even if some of the features don't have drivers it's still very tempting. Definitely one to keep an eye out for!

But the best features: 1.8 cm thick, weighs only 1kg, and with the flash memory instead of a hard drive, 14 HOURS BATTERY LIFE!!! Sorry for shouting, but I want one yesterday!

"14 HOURS BATTERY LIFE!!!"
on Windows only for 95%. We all know that linux is less energy efficient

Well, rumour is, that this is going to be a OSX laptop as well.

According to Macrumors about the Intel laptop:
Apple has been rumored to be entering the market with a flash-based laptop in the near future. Rumors have touched on the possibilities of an ultra thin model. Apple's recent patent applications have revealed that they are actively working on thinner/stronger enclosures for future laptop designs.
