For instance, the other night before going to bed I noticed this sign above the stove giving me breakfast instructions:

Apparently the P-man got tired of answering my questions in the morning and then me subsequently getting it wrong anyways. Fair enough, mornings are not my best time of the day. Ask any of the KDE people who have the .. uh .. "pleasure" of experiencing me before, say, 10am.
(Those who have seen me at conferences and whatnot up before then and appearing spry and alert and full of energy: just know how much effort it takes to override my natural state of being at such ungodly hours of the day!)
P's favourite morning food these days is eggs, but apparently without ketchup, with a knife and a drink.
He's not the only one to drop little hints. While doing the dishes the other week another of my constant companions, George the Cat, decided to let me know that he wanted some attention. He did this by cleverly pretending to be a plate, knowing that I'd soon be by to put other plates in that spot:

Others appear less frequently, but with no less impact or obviousness. It always surprises me, in a warming and confirmational manner, when someone pops up from five or, sometimes, even ten years prior to let me know that they, too, are still there.
Karen from Australia: if you're reading this, hello! =) I still have and love those green socks, and now I truly wish I'd dropped you a line when I was in your country last year. I'll try and make up for it with some strumming on my little guitar, fed into the computer, spat across the world ...

I LOVE P man! hahaha....
You have ALWAYS been a NON morning person. Even when you were five. Remember how I would wake you up in the mornings? It would end with a full body spin in the air! hahaha....
I too am not a morning person, but not to the degree that YOU are not a morning person!
Thank GOD for coffee!!
Love you bro!
ps..does P change the sign every day or is this a 'standing order'? lolol
George is beautiful. We have a cat living outside who looks just like him. We call her Yareah, which means moon, because of the white spot.
George's chest spot looks like a white wispy beard from that angle. Existential cat.
